I burned a Windows 7 disk to a DVD dual layer and one of my PC's would boot from it, one would not. I burned 2 disks and even used an external USB DVD reader. After painful searching for answers, I reburned the DVD on a single layer DVD-RW and it then was bootable on my Dell XPS m1330 drive. Bottom line, some DVD drives are finicky about DL discs.
Also, I wanted my laptop to dual boot Vista and 7. Done, but nothing short of 20 reboots and for a while it would reboot to only Vista, and then only 7 for a while. The bootloader in vista is editable via DOS, or much easier the Utility called "EasyBCD" from herehttp://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 . The CMD prompt edit doesn't look like a good time.
