Manual Update of Malware Bytes Definitions

If you can’t update because of a broken internet connection and you need updated definitions.

 

1.     Download a fresh copy of the updates on a working version of Malwarebytes on a different computer. 

2.     The “rules.ref” file  is found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware

3.     Copy and replace that file on the PC that won’t update.  Run MalwareBytes as usual and you will have the needed updates.

This works on XP, Vista not tested, but I assume it’s similar.
