Over the summer we moved into a small office in Kearny Mesa at: 4805 Mercury Street San Diego, CA 92111. Greg Wilson is the main man for you there as we can now take drop-offs for overnight and potentially same day service. At the shop we can often do repairs a bit cheaper as we bill for time spent ‘clicking’ and not the total time onsite. Additionally, Ben Casparino and Doug Rahiser have come in to help fill the void after Chip moved to Orange County to take on a new career. To round out the rest of the staff, Kyle, Jon and Kurt continue to try to keep everybody happy in technology land! Let's face it: a new computer is an expensive investment, no matter how you slice it. But in the last year, prices of Windows Desktops and Laptops have gone down quite a bit recently due to over production of components, competing devices like smartphones, tablets like the iPad, etc... manufacturers have cut their profits razor-thin. Combine that with the post-holiday push to squeeze as many $'s out of 2010 as possible and it leaves you with quite possibly the best time to purchase a new PC. AVG Antivirus 2011 has been released and your older PC may not be able to handle its many features and highly graphical interface. AVG itself, though once a great product, we are finding the AVG isn't stopping or detecting as many viruses as it once did. Additionally, AVG released a ‘PC TuneUp 2011’ program that we have had problems with. Generally speaking, each time a program get updated, it usually gets bigger and can strain your PC, thus making it slower! If your PC is more than 5 years old (or running slow anyway), we might suggest using the paid version of MalwareBytes for the lightest Anti-virus we can all agree on.
