A recent itunes install would not allow music to show up in the library. After extensive reinstalls on the computer. This BTW was on a Windows 7 PC install running 64 -bit. The only thing that helped to repair it was launching itunes while holding the shift key to have it ask for an old Library ITL file. Luckily I had one, it wasn't the library I wanted, but nonetheless, the computer was working after that.
